Polygamy is a dream that tempts many men—a mix of ambition, fantasy, and adventure—but it often crashes into the hard wall of reality and the fear of commitment. Some fear “marital penalties” and abandon the idea altogether; others take the risk and “go all in,” earning a place among the bold, while the rest settle for one wife, content with their share of fate.
But if there’s one man who didn’t just dream or hesitate, but truly spoiled himself to the fullest, it’s the late Egyptian actor Moharam Fouad. His life was a gallery of beauty—marrying some of the most famous actresses and beauty queens of his era.
He began his marital journey with the legendary Tahia Carioca, then moved to Lebanon to marry Majida Beidoun, Miss Lebanon. Later, he fell for the elegant actress Mervat Amin, followed by the iconic singer Sabah—whom many thought would be his final stop, but his heart kept wandering.
Next came actress Soheir Ramzy, another beauty symbol, before he took his charm global and married Georgina Rizk, Miss Universe, for whom he sang his famous song “Dari Gamalak” (“Hide Your Beauty”). He later returned to Egypt to marry actress Aida Riyad, known for her cheerful, down-to-earth beauty, and his last marriage was to TV presenter Mona Hilal, who added a refined media touch to his vibrant personal saga.
Moharam Fouad passed away leaving behind a story of a man who truly indulged himself—his series of marriages becoming part of his artistic and personal legacy.
The world of wives, however, is not a realm for the faint-hearted. It demands nerves of steel, a flawless memory, and a bank account that never runs dry. Polygamy isn’t heroism or romance—it’s an “engineering project” that requires strategy and crisis management. And for those who believe multiple wives mean more joy and ease—remember, even Moharam Fouad, with all his fame and charm, ended up exhausted by too much beauty.
May he rest in peace—he lived the full “Arab marital dream” to its very end… while for the rest of us, dreaming from afar will do just fine.
