A British media delegation concluded a visit to Jordan on Friday, organised by the Jordan Tourism Board as part of a multi-day tour that included meetings with senior officials and visits to major tourist, archaeological, and natural sites across the Kingdom, aiming to boost Jordan’s presence on the global tourism and investment map.

Tourism Board Director-General Dr. Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat said the UK market is one of the main targets of the board’s promotional campaigns, noting that the delegation’s visit falls within this framework.

Arabiyat added that the visit follows a series of similar media tours organised in recent months for delegations from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Poland to promote Jordan’s tourism offerings in key international markets.

The delegation included representatives from major British outlets such as BBC News and Lonely Planet, a leading global travel reference.

Their itinerary featured visits to landmarks including the Roman Theatre, Downtown Amman, Jordan Museum, and Citadel Hill; Ajloun Castle, cable car, and Our Lady of the Mountain Church; Jerash; the Baptism Site and Dead Sea; Petra – one of the New Seven Wonders of the World – and Aqaba on the Red Sea. The journalists documented their experiences through reports and media coverage showcasing Jordan’s rich tourism potential.

The delegation also met senior officials from the Ministries of Tourism and Government Communications, Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Jordan Tourism Board, Department of Antiquities, Baptism Site Commission, and the British Embassy in Amman.
