German airline Eurowings has added Amman to its global network, with its inaugural flight departing Stuttgart Airport at 7:15 AM and arriving at Queen Alia International Airport at 1:15 PM local time. The Airbus A320neo used for the route was welcomed with a traditional water salute.
The airline will operate two weekly direct flights on Mondays and Thursdays, primarily serving Amman, Bani Obaid, and Ramtha, using its modern, fuel-efficient A320neo aircraft.
Reinald Frankovitz, Head of Airport Relations and Network Operations at Eurowings, said the new route strengthens medium-haul connectivity from southern Germany to Jordan, highlighting Amman’s 9,000-year history, cultural diversity, and hospitality as key attractions for travelers.
Jordan’s Tourism Minister Dr. Emad Hijazin noted that Germany is a major source market for European tourists, adding that the new route supports tourism growth, cultural exchange, and business travel.
Director General of Jordan Tourism Board, Dr. Abdulrazzaq Arabiat, emphasized the route’s role in boosting Jordan’s presence in the German market and enhancing its accessibility for European travelers.
Nicola Duvillier, CEO of Queen Alia International Airport, welcomed Eurowings, highlighting its contribution to expanding air connectivity between Jordan and key European markets.
