Amman – Jordan Tourism Board recently hosted a team from South Korea’s God TV to produce visual media content showcasing Jordan as a land of holiness, highlighting its significance as a destination for Christian pilgrimage and its deep spiritual and historical heritage.
The visit comes as part of the board’s efforts to strengthen Jordan’s position as a leading global destination for religious tourism and to reach wider audiences in South Korea by promoting the kingdom as a key stop on the Christian pilgrimage trail.
In coordination between the board and God TV, a comprehensive field plan was developed to film major touristic, archaeological and religious sites across the country—from Salt, Jerash, and Ajloun to Madaba, Karak, Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea—along with Christian pilgrimage sites such as Mount Nebo, the Baptism Site, Madaba churches, and Our Lady of the Mountain Church in Anjara.
The visit also included meetings with the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, the Baptism Site Commission, and the Council of Evangelical Church Leaders, aimed at developing Christian tour programs and enhancing the pilgrimage experience in Jordan.
Cultural and recreational activities were also part of the itinerary, including wellness experiences at Ma’in Hot Springs and the Dead Sea, adventures in Wadi Mujib, and authentic Jordanian culinary experiences, reflecting the country’s rich cultural and environmental diversity.
During discussions, both sides agreed to maintain cooperation by sending another God TV media team in January 2026 to cover Epiphany celebrations at the Baptism Site, attended by Rev. John Lee, head of Yood Evangelical Church in South Korea. The team will also complete filming for a documentary titled “Jordan: Kingdom of Time and Land of Holiness.”
God TV will translate all promotional materials and media content into Korean and provide the board with subtitled copies to ensure effective outreach to the Korean audience and an authentic representation of Jordan.
This collaboration marks a strategic step in the board’s efforts to expand Jordan’s presence in Asian markets and to establish global media partnerships that highlight the country’s religious and cultural heritage—offering the Christian pilgrimage experience in Jordan as a unique spiritual and human journey.
