LPrime Minister Jaafar Hassan met in Doha on Monday with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Talks focused on strengthening the deep-rooted ties between the two countries across various fields. Hassan outlined Jordan’s strategic projects in energy, transport, water, tourism and infrastructure, and discussed potential cooperation opportunities in these areas.

Both premiers reaffirmed their mutual keenness to maintain coordination, enhance economic relations and advance cooperation to serve the interests of both nations and peoples.

They also discussed regional developments, particularly the Palestinian issue. Hassan stressed the need for full adherence to the Gaza ceasefire and implementation of all its provisions, ensuring sustained delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the worsening crisis, halting escalation and violations in the West Bank, and launching a political process leading to an independent Palestinian state on the basis of the two-state solution.

The meeting came ahead of Hassan’s participation, on behalf of King Abdullah II, in the Second World Summit for Social Development hosted by Doha and organised by the United Nations, with wide international participation. The prime minister thanked his Qatari counterpart for hosting the summit.
