King to begin Japan visit Saturday at start of Asian work tour

King Abdullah begins a visit to Japan on Saturday, launching an Asian work tour that also includes Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Pakistan.

The tour aims to deepen cooperation with these countries and strengthen partnerships, especially in economic and investment sectors.

In Tokyo, the King meets Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, and senior Japanese officials. He also holds talks with representatives of JICA, JETRO and major Japanese companies.


In Hanoi, he meets President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and top officials, and attends part of the Jordan-Vietnam Business Forum, including a session on partnership in the garment sector.


In Singapore, he holds meetings with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.


In Jakarta, the King meets President Prabowo Subianto and representatives of Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund.


The tour concludes in Pakistan with meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Jordan is set to sign cooperation agreements and MoUs with Japan, Indonesia and Pakistan during the King’s meetings on this tour.
