Head of the Jordanian Women Parliamentarians Forum MP Dr Tamara Nasserdeen announced the release of the Forum’s 2024–2025 annual report, highlighting its key legislative and community achievements. She said the report reflects the Forum’s commitment to transparency and public accountability, adding: “Citizens have the right to know what we do. Accountability begins within elected institutions. This transparency expresses our respect for public opinion and strengthens trust in women’s parliamentary work.”
The report said the Forum’s first year saw dynamic activity combining networking, capacity building, and field engagement to strengthen Jordanian women’s roles in decision-making and empowerment. It held five main meetings to establish the Forum, elect its board, adopt the annual plan, and review progress, alongside networking sessions with the Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women and representatives from northern and southern governorates.
The Forum also held 11 training and dialogue programmes focused on legislative, leadership, and media skills. Topics included national strategies for women, digital safety, gender-responsive budgeting, climate justice, legislative drafting, and advocacy.
On the ground, it conducted four field visits to areas and institutions such as the Southern Ghor, Al Hussein Social Foundation, and Princess Taghrid Foundation in Jerash to identify women’s issues, listen to their challenges, and submit recommendations to relevant authorities.
The report noted that the Forum strengthened its media presence through 35 publications that highlighted its role as a platform supporting women leaders in parliament and society.
Nasserdeen said the report marks not an end but “a continuous path of women’s parliamentary work based on partnership, accountability, and openness to society,” affirming continued efforts to amplify Jordanian women’s voices and roles in decision-making.
