Amman- The Middle East University organized the International Conference on English Language, under the patronage of the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Dr. Yaqub Nasser Al-Din.
The conference was held by the English Language and Translation Department at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences, in cooperation with the Association of Teachers of English Language, Literature, and Translation in Arab Universities.
University President Professor Dr. Salam Al-Mahadeen stated that AI applications today embody the intersection of phonetics and natural language processing algorithms. She highlighted this underscores the importance of theoretical and applied linguistic studies in formulating fair and unbiased language models.
She added that AI technologies are reshaping text analysis, discourse generation, and revealing the deep structure of language. This raises fundamental questions about who thinks, who creates, and what remains human amidst AI collaboration.
President of the Association, Professor Dr. Jihad Hamdan, expressed his thanks for the university's efforts in providing Jordanian, Arab, and foreign academics and researchers a platform to present and discuss their latest research for the third time.
The two-day conference featured 82 research papers presented by 150 male and female researchers from 16 countries, discussing topics related to English language in the AI era.
