Amman- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the continued terrorist attacks by extremist settlers against Palestinians, the latest being the crime of burning the Al-Hajja Hamida Mosque in the occupied West Bank governorate of Salfit.

The Ministry's official spokesman, Fuad Al-Majali, held Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for these attacks.

Al-Majali affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection of these assaults, which represent an extension of the extremist Israeli government's policy and the statements of its officials that fuel extremism and violence against the Palestinian people.

He warned of the consequences of continued violations in the occupied West Bank and the ongoing restrictions on Palestinians, coinciding with terrorist attacks by extremist settlers, which risk an explosion of the situation threatening the security and stability of the region.

Al-Majali called on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities, and to compel Israel, the occupying power, to stop its serious escalation and settler attacks. He emphasized that fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
