Summit delegations arrive at Amman Ahliyya in cooperation with University of Jordan

Delegations from Arab and international universities and educational and research institutions arrive in Jordan to take part in Times Higher Education Arab Universities Summit 2025, hosted by Amman Ahliyya University from tomorrow until 27 November in cooperation with University of Jordan.

Welcome dinner held Monday evening for invitees, ahead of opening of sessions Tuesday at Amman Ahliyya with attendance of Phil Baty, THE Global Affairs Chief; Sari Hamdan, President of Amman Ahliyya; Maher Hourani, Chairman of the Board; academics from University of Jordan and other Jordanian universities; and university leaders and researchers from Arab and international institutions.

Opening includes remarks by Sari Hamdan and Phil Baty, followed by conference sessions covering: • Phil Baty on THE commitment to transparency, integrity and partnership.
• Distinguished host address by Ahmed Hamdan on readiness and unity in shaping future strategy.
• Ibrahim Al-Hajri on reimagining the Arab university from research to innovation leadership.
• Fireside chat on digital future and AI in academia.
• Amal Damashqi on protecting exams in AI era.
• Panel on designing institutions for impact with Juliette Russell, Victoria Lindsay, Yousra Mzougui.
• From campus to commercialisation with Reem Al-Fayez, Allam Ahmed, Abdullah Elias, Marcelo Scalisi.
• Advanced data session on THE Arab University Rankings 2025 with Wael Mansour and Hannah Peacock.
• Digital-first university strategy with Said Al-Dhaheri, Amal Damashqi, Riyad Hamzah, Iman Mujahid, Jordan Sarour.
• Innovation ecosystems from research to regional impact with Solveig Nicklos, Rami Beram, Jihene Ghribi, Ghassan Saeed, Myriam Sfeir.

Wednesday sessions include: • AI dialogue: new vision for higher education in Arab world with Tania Ferreira, Mohammad Al-Zekri, Fabio Piano.
• Institutional climate-action planning workshop with Martina Ziboli, Murad Al-Maaytah, Maya Haddad, Aya Suki, Cengiz Yilmaz.
• Climate leadership in environmentally challenged region with Faihaa Al-Shibli, Sherifa Abdelbaqi, Mohammad Al-Ta’ani.
• Advanced data workshop on Impact Rankings 2025 with Hannah Peacock.
• Aligning higher education with national AI strategies with Somaya Sabouni, Mohannad Al-Farras, Manal Jaloul, Cameron Mirza, Mariam Riad.
• Reimagining graduate employability with Nora Al-Saadoun, Amr Adly, Ahmad Al-Kuwaiti, Khaled Al-Saleh, Nazih Khadaj Melhem.

• Closing remarks by Sari Hamdan.

Third day features social trip to Petra, lunch at Mövenpick Petra, shopping tour, then return to Amman.

Event underscores leading role of Amman Ahliyya and University of Jordan in shaping future of Arab higher education and strengthening academic excellence, research cooperation and innovation.
