An injury caused one of the assistant referees to call on a fan to officiate a match in the German third-division soccer league today, Saturday.

An assistant referee suffered an ankle injury in the 21st minute of the match between Wiesbaden and its guest Meppen, and he went out on a stretcher, and there was no fourth referee on the field.
