A senior US official says US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump, meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders in Berlin this week. The official adds Witkoff also meets officials from France, Britain and Germany on Sunday and Monday.

The Wall Street Journal first reports the meeting. Witkoff leads negotiations with Ukraine and Russia on a US proposal to end war in Ukraine. Decision to send Witkoff highlights Washington urgency to bridge remaining gaps with Kyiv over terms of the plan.

The Wall Street Journal says French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expected to attend. The White House says Thursday Trump sends no official to the meeting unless progress in peace talks appears possible.
