Amman, 17 December 2025: Ministry of Industry Trade decides Wednesday to refer Royal Scientific Society inspection report on gas heaters linked to deaths suffocation cases to judicial authorities to complete legal procedures.

Preliminary findings all heaters involved in suffocation deaths are used units, with combustion defects leading to increased carbon monoxide levels in air, in addition to malfunctioning oxygen sensors. Most heaters lack proper gas hoses or dedicated regulators.

Prime Minister Jafar Hassan holds follow-up meeting Tuesday to review preliminary results of Royal Scientific Society inspection report on gas heaters linked to deaths suffocation cases.

Meeting includes several ministers, Public Security Directorate director, representatives of Royal Scientific Society and relevant authorities.
