Final first-semester exams start for public school students today


Amman, 18 December 2025 — Final achievement exams for first semester start Thursday for basic education students and Grades 11 and 12 in public schools across Kingdom, in line with academic calendar announced by Ministry of Education. Exams continue until Thursday, 8 January 2026.

According to ministry, second semester in public schools starts Sunday, 25 January 2026. Final second-semester exams for Grade 12 run from Wednesday, 6 May 2026 until Sunday, 24 May 2026, while exams for basic education students and Grade 11 take place from Saturday, 6 June 2026 until Thursday, 25 June 2026.

In private schools, first-semester final exams run from Thursday, 11 December 2025 until Wednesday, 31 December 2025, followed by winter break from Sunday, 4 January 2026 until Saturday, 31 January 2026.

Ministry says total number of students in public and private schools ranges between 2.2 million and 2.3 million, including UNRWA schools and military culture schools.

Exams come as part of ministry efforts to ensure completion of educational process in optimal manner and achieve solid academic attainment across all stages.
