Public Prosecution decides to ban travel of 14 suspects in ‘Shmousa heater’ case, sources tell Rum.
Sources say number of complaints reaches 26 people linked to deaths, injuries and related incidents.
At least 10 people die in recent days due to carbon monoxide poisoning caused by use of household gas heaters locally known as ‘Shmousa’.
Incidents occur in Zarqa governorate and capital Amman, prompting government to suspend sale of this type of heater and ban its use entirely.
Technical investigation opens into incident, with Royal Scientific Society report leading to referral of Director of Standards and Metrology to investigation.
