Health Minister Ibrahim Al-Budour announces Sunday new plan to regulate medication dispensing at health centres and hospitals in capital Amman to reduce waiting times, organise process and ease congestion.
Ministry says monthly medications to be dispensed from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at health centres in Amman, and from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Al-Bashir Hospital and Dr Jameel Al-Totanjy Hospital, with option to receive medications through Hakimi app.
Daily prescriptions to be dispensed from 8:00am to 1:00pm, ministry adds.
Volunteers to be present at hospitals and health centres in Amman to assist patients with monthly prescriptions in downloading Hakimi app, electronic solution allowing medications delivered to patient homes without visiting facilities.
Decision to take effect from 1 January 2026. Pilot campaign launched last month at three comprehensive health centres in Amman, then expanded to all health centres and hospitals in capital at start of current month.
Ministry confirms step to be extended later to rest of governorates to ease access for citizens.
