Ministry of Water and Irrigation spokesperson Omar Salameh says current rainy season promising, noting dams across kingdom reach about quarter of total storage capacity so far.
Salameh adds Sunday ministry hopes current weather system, expected to continue Monday, brings significant rainfall to boost dam reserves and improve water situation nationwide.
In related context, Salameh warns of possible flooding at Wadi Al-Karak Dam in coming hours as it nears full capacity of 2 million cubic metres.
He urges citizens, farmers and residents in areas downstream of Wadi Al-Karak Dam toward southern Jordan Valley to take necessary precautions and follow instructions of relevant authorities to ensure public safety.
