Since outbreak of war on Gaza Strip on 7 October 2023, Jordan adopts clear humanitarian stance focused on supporting Palestinian resilience and easing suffering, rejecting targeting civilians and worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army – translate stance into action through evacuation of wounded, land and air convoys delivering food, medicine, fuel, establishment of field hospitals, and launch of ‘Restoring Hope’ initiative to fit prosthetic limbs for war amputees.
From start of 2025 until December, Jordan Armed Forces emerge as key pillar of humanitarian support in Gaza, carrying out sustained air and land relief operations, providing advanced medical services inside Strip, helping save thousands amid near-collapse of health system.
Jordanian Medical Corridor
Under royal directives, Jordan announces ‘Jordanian Medical Corridor’ in early March 2025 to receive 2,000 children from Gaza for treatment in Kingdom.
On 4 March, first batch evacuated, including 29 children, four transported by Royal Jordanian Air Force helicopters, 25 by ambulances via King Hussein Bridge, coordinated with Ministry of Health and World Health Organization.
Evacuations continue in successive batches throughout year, covering children, patients with chronic diseases, severe injuries, and their companions under precise medical and humanitarian procedures.
By end of December 2025, total evacuated through corridor reaches 1,849 people from Gaza, including 498 patients and 1,351 companions, transported by land and air for treatment in Jordanian hospitals, according to Jordan Armed Forces.
After completing treatment, many children and families return to Gaza to allow reception of new cases, reaffirming Jordan rejection of displacement and commitment to temporary humanitarian support.
Jordanian field hospitals
Jordan Armed Forces establish three field hospitals in northern and southern Gaza, plus field hospital in Nablus, West Bank.
In southern Gaza (Khan Younis), Jordanian field hospital performs 23,679 surgeries and receives 314,296 medical consultations across specialties amid extreme pressure and shortages.
In northern Gaza (Tel Al-Hawa), field hospital performs 1,139 surgeries and receives 124,415 consultations before relocation south to protect staff due to intensified shelling.
In second half of December, Jordan Armed Forces resume operation of Tel Al-Hawa field hospital after maintenance and re-equipment.
Hospitals include clinics for general surgery, internal medicine, orthopaedics, paediatrics, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, alongside emergency units and fully equipped operating theatres staffed by experienced Jordanian medical teams.
Air bridge, airdrops
Jordan operates air bridge between Marka military airport and Egypt’s El Arish to deliver aid to Gaza, alongside direct airdrops.
By 26 August 2025, total airdrops reach about 564, including 164 by Jordan Armed Forces and 400 with sisterly and friendly countries, among largest humanitarian airoperations.
Airdrops include food, medical and relief supplies carried out under complex security and weather conditions.
Food security support – mobile bakeries
Responding to severe bread shortages, Jordan Armed Forces deploy mobile bakeries in cooperation with World Central Kitchen.
By end of 2025, three Jordanian mobile bakeries operate in Gaza, each producing about 70,000 loaves daily. One bakery alone produces more than 11 million loaves during year, supporting food security for residents.
‘Restoring Hope’ initiative
Launched on 26 August 2024 under royal directives to address growing numbers of amputees in Gaza.
During 2025, 703 upper and lower prosthetic limbs fitted for Gaza wounded through specialised mobile medical units equipped with advanced technology, enabling rapid fitting and follow-up for children and adults.
Initiative represents sustainable humanitarian support moving beyond emergency relief to rehabilitation and restoring ability to live.
