Three people killed in clashes between protesters and security forces in Iran, Iranian media report, first such deaths since protests over high living costs began 5 days ago.
Reports say one of those killed member of Basij force affiliated with Revolutionary Guard.
Protests began in Tehran on Sunday after traders demonstrated against rising prices and economic deterioration, before spreading to other social groups and regions.
Two protesters killed in Lordegan, according to reports, after demonstrators threw stones at government buildings including governorate, mosque, Martyrs Foundation, municipality, and several banks, before moving towards governorate building. Police used tear gas, with several injuries reported.
Lordegan, with population of about 40,000, lies around 650 kilometres south of Tehran and serves as centre of Lordegan province.
Reports say buildings suffered heavy damage and several people arrested, described as leaders of protests.
Iranian state media previously labelled protesters as rioters.
Earlier, Iranian television quoted Lorestan deputy governor Saeed Pour Ali saying 21-year-old Basij member killed in Kuhdasht “by rioters while defending public order”.
He added that 13 police officers and Basij members injured by stone-throwing during protests in Kuhdasht, city of about 90,000 people located 550 kilometres west of Tehran.
