Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources reveals talks with Iraqi side to renew memorandum of understanding on importing Iraqi oil for additional year.
Move follows expiry of previous memorandum on 26 June 2025, later extended until end of last year.
Ministry says it seeks renewal under same terms and specifications as previous agreement, strengthening joint energy cooperation between two countries.
It adds Jordan Petroleum Refinery in Zarqa receives 891,388 barrels of Iraqi crude between 5 October and 31 December 2025, under extended memorandum signed between governments of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Republic of Iraq.
According to memorandum, deliveries complete quantities not loaded earlier due to logistical reasons, with loading resuming on 5 October and ending on 31 December 2025.
Step part of efforts to boost continued cooperation in energy sector and reinforce economic relations between two countries, supporting shared interests and Jordan energy security.
