By Dr Yousef Obaidallah Khreisat
Jordanian citizen today lives difficult, painful struggle between heart that loves homeland and conscience rooted in loyalty, while life grows heavier by day. Each morning, citizen searches path between sincere belonging and price hikes that tear through every household.
Belonging becomes hard journey of patience and loyalty. To love homeland means to endure hardships imposed by time, and to balance what heart gives with harsh calculations of daily life. Every morning, citizen wakes to find economic knife slowly cutting into pocket, while hunger and high prices turn into constant companions demanding patience.
Youth stand at centre of this reality, carrying homeland in conscience and anxiety about future. They dream of work, stability and dignified life, only to discover daily reality sets limits on every dream, and that loyalty to homeland often means patience of heart, not strength of hand.
Citizen’s pain is language of everyday life, speaking eloquently through patience. Here, patience speaks louder than any cry, as it combines loyalty and fear, belonging and pressure, love and reality. When patience stretches too long, it becomes shared language of all homes, speaking on behalf of citizen—yet no echo returns.
Hope, however, remains present. Genuine belonging can align with realistic measures that protect citizen dignity through targeted support, transparent policies and full awareness of people’s feelings. At that point, loyalty to homeland becomes honest stance where good intention meets daily life, easing blow of soaring prices.
Jordanian remains caught between heart that loves homeland and reality that presses on every detail of life, between unwavering loyalty and daily pain. Question remains: will life find someone to protect citizen’s patience and dignity, just as citizen protects homeland?
