Syrian Foreign Ministry condemns in strongest terms drone attacks targeting government buildings and residential neighbourhoods in Aleppo, describing escalation as blatant terrorist assault threatening civilian lives and disregarding all security understandings.
Ministry stresses necessity of ‘law enforcement’ measures taken by state in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh districts to restore security and impose exclusive authority of law across entire Syrian territory.
Statement says hostile acts will not deter state from duty to protect citizens and clear areas of illegal armed presence.
Syria holds perpetrators fully legally responsible, pledging legal and criminal pursuit of all involved to ensure accountability for crimes against state institutions and civilians.
Damascus calls on international community to condemn terrorist operations and support Syrian state efforts in fight against terrorism and consolidation of security and stability.
