Journalist Faisal Al-Tammimi says his health condition improving after violent attack by unknown assailants near his home in Zarqa.
Speaking to Rum, Tammimi says doctors suture 16 stitches to his head, with additional injury to forehead. He confirms he does not know attackers and has no prior disputes with them, professionally or socially.
Tammimi says attack occurs while he with family, causing fear and panic, especially as his young son beside him. He adds he tries to defend himself and protect family.
He firmly denies receiving any prior threats, stressing assault comes without warning.
On response of Jordan Press Association, Tammimi praises stance of syndicate, saying it spares no effort in following case. Several members visit him in hospital and syndicate issues official statement condemning attack as crime against entire journalism community, not individual.
Tammimi also thanks Zarqa Government Hospital for medical care and security services for close follow-up, expressing confidence in ability of authorities to arrest perpetrators and bring them to justice.
