— Jordan Interior Ministry spokesperson Abdul Karim Abu Dalu says about 182,700 Syrians leave Jordan under voluntary return track to Syria since fall of former regime until 17 January 2026.
Returns come as life paths begin to recover in Syria after Syrian army secures strategic areas including Tabqa airport and Euphrates dam, encouraging thousands to decide return.
Abu Dalu says numbers of Syrians in Jordan camps continue to change with entry and exit movements. Zaatari camp currently hosts about 51,000 Syrians, while Azraq camp hosts around 34,150.
On civil registration, spokesperson says number of Syrian births registered with Jordan Civil Status and Passports Department since start of crisis reaches about 265,800.
Interior Ministry follows Syrian refugee file with high accuracy and in constant coordination with relevant authorities to institutionalise all legal procedures.
Voluntary return figures indicate end of political deadlock phase in Syria. With Syrian army securing return points and enforcing security against militant groups, numbers of returnees expected to double during current year.
