Jordanian Customs Directorate stressed the importance of benefiting from the pre-import approvals and licensing system via the platform, as one of the modern electronic systems aimed at simplifying customs procedures, speeding up clearance, and enhancing transparency and integration with relevant regulatory authorities.
The directorate said Monday that the system helps facilitate customs procedures before goods, equipment, or machinery arrive in the kingdom, reducing delays at customs centers and accelerating release of shipments.
The system allows importers, traders, and industrialists to obtain necessary approvals from competent authorities in advance, helping reduce clearance time, cut operational costs, and improve business environment in line with international best practices in trade facilitation.
Customs urged importers to submit electronic requests via the pre-approval platform before importing any goods subject to regulatory approvals, whether environmental, health, or technical, noting that completing these procedures in advance ensures smooth customs clearance and faster processing of transactions.
