Amman – Sunday, January 25, 2026 – The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Jordan’s Ministry of Transport, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, and Syria’s Ministry of Transport to strengthen cooperation in the transport sector.
The MoU aims to enhance connectivity and efficiency of transport operations across the three countries, develop transport infrastructure, facilitate movement of goods and people, exchange expertise, and coordinate investment in transport projects.
The agreement covers all modes of transport, including road and air, with future expansion to railways and multimodal logistics systems. It also seeks to standardize regulations, promote digitalization and smart transport systems, build capacity, exchange knowledge, coordinate transport corridors, and involve the private sector to attract investment.
A joint ministerial committee comprising transport ministers and relevant officials from the three countries will oversee strategic guidance, dialogue, and implementation of the MoU.
