Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi has met with several officials in Vietnam, stressing Jordan’s desire to forge partnerships that yield mutual benefits for the two countries.
Qadi, in the presence of non-resident Jordanian ambassador to Vietnam Saeed Radaideh, commended Vietnam’s progress in the fields of artificial intelligence, agriculture and industry, in addition to healthcare and medical supplies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.
During his meeting with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, Qadi said that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, values Vietnam’s steadfast position on the Palestinian cause, its support for the two-state solution, and its affirmation of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
He also expressed appreciation for the material and moral support provided to the people of Gaza, expressing hope for increased international support to end the suffering there.
Qadi also congratulated Lam on his re-election as party leader.
In his meeting with President of Vietnam Luong Cuong, Qadi voiced hope for encouraging tourism between the two countries, noting that both Jordan and Vietnam possess unique historical and religious tourism assets, calling for increased people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
He also pointed to Jordan’s position as a regional hub, particularly given its strategic location, which makes it an attractive destination for investments across various sectors.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh, Qadi said that His Majesty, immediately upon returning from his recent visit to Vietnam, directed Jordanian officials to open new aspects for cooperation with Vietnam, stressing the importance of tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Vietnamese officials expressed strong interest in the visit, noting that it came three months after the historic Royal visit to Vietnam.
They agreed on the need to expand cooperation between Jordan and Vietnam through the signing of agreements that would enhance relations at all levels.
The Vietnamese officials also reaffirmed their steadfast position on the Palestinian cause, commending King Abdullah’s efforts, particularly in building peace in the region.
