The Government of Japan has granted USD 74,576 to the Jordanian National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS) to supply emergency medical and ICU equipment under the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The Grant Contract was signed on February 5, 2026, by Mr. ASARI Hideki, Japanese Ambassador to Jordan, and Dr. Mohammad Al-Hadid, President of JNRCS. The funding will enhance the hospital’s emergency and ICU services, expanding capacity to treat children evacuated from Gaza under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s Royal initiative, as well as other vulnerable populations in Jordan.
Since its establishment in 1947, Jordan Red Crescent Hospital has provided essential medical care to underprivileged communities, including residents of Al-Wehdat Refugee Camp.
Ambassador ASARI praised the Society’s dedication, noting Japan’s commitment to supporting Royal initiatives for saving Gazan children. Dr. Al-Hadid highlighted the long-standing partnership with Japan, dating back to the 1990s, which has enabled the hospital to strengthen capacities and deliver life-saving services to those in need.
Since 1993, Japan’s GGP has contributed over USD 10.58 million to 161 projects across Jordan, supporting NGOs, schools, hospitals, and local authorities.
