At least 16 people, including women and children, are killed after a building collapses following an explosion in the Pakistani city of Karachi on Thursday, as families prepare suhoor during Ramadan, rescue teams say.
Regional ambulance agency spokesperson Hassan Khan says 16 people die and 13 others suffer injuries. The three-storey building, located in a densely populated suburb, collapses for an “unknown” reason.
A municipal official says a gas explosion appears to be the cause, but investigation to determine circumstances of incident.
