The commander of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza announced during the Peace Council meeting in Washington on Thursday that five countries have committed to sending troops to the sector.
General Jasper Jeffers stated that the first five countries to pledge forces are Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania. He added that two countries—Jordan and Egypt—have pledged to train police personnel for the force.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Kazakhstan is prepared to support the stabilization mission by deploying military units, including medical teams.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that Jakarta would contribute 8,000 or more troops to an international security force to protect Gaza.
Morocco’s foreign minister expressed readiness to deploy police officers to Gaza, while Turkey’s foreign minister confirmed that Turkey would also contribute to the Gaza security force.
