Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, conveyed the greetings of Abdullah II of Jordan to Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez during a meeting held yesterday afternoon (Venezuela time). The King reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to strengthening relations between the Kingdom and Venezuela.
Rodríguez asked Safadi to convey her greetings to King Abdullah II and expressed Venezuela’s interest in enhancing bilateral ties across various sectors.
The meeting discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in several economic fields, as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Upon his arrival in Venezuela, Safadi also met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil. The two officials held extensive talks on boosting cooperation in key sectors including energy, oil and gas, tourism, culture, trade, and investment. They also addressed regional and international developments, stressing the importance of joint efforts to promote regional and global security and stability.
Both ministers agreed to develop a clear roadmap identifying promising areas of economic cooperation and to accelerate the signing of necessary bilateral agreements. They also agreed to sign a memorandum of political consultations to institutionalize regular meetings aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between Jordan and Venezuela.
The two countries had previously signed a memorandum of understanding in the tourism sector and an agreement exempting holders of diplomatic passports from entry visas.
