On Saturday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America announced a new truce between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, across the country.

According to the Saudi-American statement, the ceasefire between the Sudanese army begins Sunday at 6 am and extends for three days.

The statement added that the Sudanese army and Rapid Support agreed to refrain from movements and attacks, the use of warplanes, drones, artillery bombardment, strengthening positions, resupplying forces, or refraining from trying to achieve military gains during the ceasefire. They also agreed to allow freedom of movement and the delivery of humanitarian aid throughout Sudan.

The statement pointed out that if the 72-hour ceasefire is not adhered to, the facilitators will be forced to consider postponing the Jeddah talks.
