In a step aimed at strengthening social solidarity and modernizing charitable operations, the Jordan Commercial Bank and Qatar Charity signed a strategic cooperation agreement to launch the first “Qatar Charity Prepaid Card,” designated for beneficiaries of social welfare programs.
The initiative marks a first-of-its-kind project for Qatar Charity and represents a significant shift in financial aid delivery mechanisms. It aims to transform traditional distribution methods into a modern digital system that ensures efficiency and transparency in serving humanitarian objectives. The prepaid card enables beneficiaries to receive cash assistance promptly while safeguarding their privacy and dignity.
The card also promotes financial inclusion by integrating beneficiaries into the formal banking system, facilitating improved financial management and future access to banking services.
On this occasion, Caesar Goulajian, General Manager of Jordan Commercial Bank, stated that the partnership reflects the bank’s commitment to social responsibility and financial inclusion, emphasizing that leveraging innovative banking solutions to serve charitable work provides beneficiaries with a secure and efficient way to manage their financial needs.
For his part, Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Marri, Advisor to the CEO of Qatar Charity and General Supervisor of its Jordan Office, highlighted that the launch of the prepaid card represents a model for future cooperation between the banking sector and charitable organizations. He noted that the primary objective is to ensure that assistance reaches beneficiary families quickly and efficiently while preserving their dignity and reducing reliance on traditional distribution methods. The initiative is expected to support thousands of families throughout 2026, contributing to social stability and improved living conditions.
