The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, Dhaifallah Al-Farajat, confirmed that Jordanian airspace remains open and operating normally for air navigation, stressing the continued operational efficiency of civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom.
Al-Farajat stated that figures recorded yesterday reflect flexibility in dealing with current regional conditions. More than 140 aircraft crossed Jordanian airspace, representing 56% of normal traffic levels. The decrease is primarily due to the closure of airspace by several neighboring countries amid ongoing developments.
Queen Alia International Airport handled approximately 120 arriving and departing flights, reaching about 60% of its usual traffic. This followed temporary suspensions or cancellations of flights to the region by several foreign airlines.
He emphasized the Commission’s commitment to protecting passengers’ rights and ensuring they receive necessary care. Affected travelers were urged to request alternative flights directly from the respective airlines, noting that this is a guaranteed right under the Commission’s published regulations.
If airlines fail to respond or provide appropriate solutions, passengers are encouraged to file a formal complaint through the Commission’s official website (www.carc.gov.jo) or via the complaints hotline (+962799522502).
Al-Farajat concluded by affirming that the Commission is closely monitoring air traffic and regional developments in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordan.
