Middle East University Hosts Ramadan Iftar for Women and Leadership in Higher Education Network

The Middle East University organized a Ramadan iftar for the Women and Leadership in Higher Education Network, under the patronage of Engineer Maha Ali, Secretary-General of the Jordanian National Commission for Women.
The event was attended by the university president, Professor Salam Al-Mahadin, along with national figures concerned with women’s issues, faculty members, heads of women’s studies centers, female students, and graduates of doctoral programs.
In her remarks, the university president reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to promoting principles of justice and equal opportunity, noting that women academics constitute nearly 50% of the university’s faculty, reflecting an institutional approach that supports women’s empowerment across academic and administrative levels.
For her part, Maha Ali emphasized the important role universities and women’s studies centers play in supporting national efforts to empower women. She highlighted the need to address challenges related to women academics’ access to senior academic ranks through institutional policies that promote sustainability and fairness in career progression.
The gathering also featured a review of the Women and Leadership in Higher Education Network’s project achievements and honored contributors to its success, underscoring a shared commitment to strengthening female academic leadership and expanding its impact within the higher education system.
