In the spirit of giving during the holy month of Ramadan, InterContinental Jordan, in partnership with Arab Islamic International Bank, organized a special charity iftar at Al-Bunayat Center for Special Education. The initiative brought joy and warmth to children with special needs, reinforcing values of compassion and community support.
Al-Bunayat Center for Special Education was established in 1974 under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Tharwat Al-Hassan. The center operates under the umbrella of the Young Muslim Women Association, a non-profit charitable organization serving Jordanian society through educational initiatives. The center supports students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, providing specialized assessments of cognitive, social, and behavioral skills and developing individualized educational plans for each student.
As part of the initiative, InterContinental Jordan provided the iftar meal and full hospitality services, while the Arab Islamic International Bank contributed gifts and organized entertainment activities to bring smiles to the children’s faces. The collaboration aimed to an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere, ensuring the children experienced the joy of Ramadan in a meaningful and memorable way.
Nicholas Haworth, General Manager of InterContinental Jordan, stated that the hotel remains committed to supporting the community and making a difference in the lives of those most in need, adding that Ramadan is a time of unity and it was an honor to share the occasion with the children at Al-Bunayat Center.
Iyad Al-Asali, General Manager of the Arab Islamic International Bank, expressed his pleasure in bringing joy to the children and creating unforgettable moments during the holy month through this charitable initiative, reflecting the bank’s commitment to spreading positivity, strengthening community ties, and engaging constructively with the local community.
The iftar was marked by warmth and togetherness, embodying the true essence of Ramadan. Both InterContinental Jordan and the Arab Islamic International Bank reaffirmed their continued commitment to social responsibility initiatives that promote inclusion and empowerment within the community.
