Dozens of people have been killed across the Middle East since the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28, with Lebanon quickly drawn into the conflict.
Below is the reported death toll as of March 3, the fourth day of the war, according to official sources in the countries concerned:
Iran:
The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported that 787 people were killed. Among them were 165 female students and staff who died in a missile strike on an elementary school in Minab, southern Iran, on the first day of the war. It remains unclear whether the death toll includes members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Israel:
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, reported that 10 civilians were killed, including nine people in a missile strike on Beit Shemesh near Jerusalem on March 1. Israel’s Ministry of Defense has not reported any military casualties.
Lebanon:
The Lebanese Ministry of Health said that 50 people were killed in Israeli missile strikes.
Bahrain:
The Ministry of Interior reported that one person died after a fire broke out in Salman Industrial City following a missile interception.
Kuwait:
The Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs stated that three people were killed, including two Kuwaiti soldiers, in Iranian attacks on the country.
Oman:
One person was killed after a projectile struck the chemical and oil products tanker “Fiyom,” flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, off the coast of Muscat.
United Arab Emirates:
The Ministry of Defense reported that three people were killed.
U.S. Military:
United States Central Command announced that six American soldiers were killed in a strike on a facility in Kuwait.
