Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Sunday that the "enemy" has distorted his words and seeks to sow discord with neighboring countries, according to reports from Iranian state television.
State television further quoted the President as saying, "Relations with neighbors must be good, and our responses to strikes do not imply the existence of a problem with them."
He added, "If the enemy attempts to use any country to attack or invade our land, we will be forced to respond to that attack."
Israel and the United States have been launching airstrikes against Iran since Saturday, February 28, which resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has responded by striking Israel and countries in the region with missiles and drones.
Iran has also implemented a naval blockade on ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz and has targeted oil tankers attempting to transit the waterway.
On Sunday, March 1, Hezbollah launched several missiles from Lebanon targeting northern Israel in response to the assassination of Khamenei. This has drawn Lebanon into an open war with Israel, as the latter has carried out devastating raids on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
