Minister of Education Dr. Azmi Mahafzeh on Sunday honored Abdul Aziz Zghoul, a BTEC Information Technology major student from Ibn Al-Ameed Secondary Boys School in Amman.

The Ministry's Secretary-General for Vocational and Technical Education, Dr. Muhammad Ghaith, attended the honring ceremony.

According to a Ministry statement, Zghoul participated in the International Junior Cybersecurity Olympiad (IJCO) in China and won the gold medal in the individual RANK1 category with the highest score globally, achieving first place worldwide. He also won the silver medal in the team category.

The minister also honored teacher Eng. Firas Jarar, who presented the competition to his students, supervised and supported them with tutoring sessions and provided relevant links to lessons to help them achieve these results.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mahafzeh emphasized his pride in Jordan's "creative" students, praising the excellence demonstrated by many of the Kingdom's schools during their global engagements.

Mahafzeh also commended efforts of school administrations, teachers, and parents, who contributed to providing a "supportive and stimulating" environment for achieving these milestones.
