The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that the Kuwaiti Armed Forces destroyed three ballistic missiles in the southern part of the country over the past 24 hours. Additionally, a wave of hostile drones was detected breaching the airspace, some of which were successfully destroyed by air defenses.
According to the official Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA), the spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, Colonel Staff Saud Al-Atwan, stated that Kuwaiti air defenses engaged three ballistic missiles over the last 24 hours, intercepting and destroying them in the south.
Air defense systems and Air Force fighter jets also monitored a wave of hostile drones that entered the country's airspace. Al-Atwan clarified that air defenses managed to destroy several of them, resulting in falling shrapnel.
Targeted Locations
Colonel Al-Atwan noted the following specific incidents:
Kuwait International Airport: Two drones targeted fuel tanks in the Subhan area.
Kuwait City: One drone targeted the Public Institution for Social Security building in the capital.
The spokesperson confirmed that these attacks did not result in any human casualties.
