Amman – The Iranian Army vowed on Thursday to launch "crushing" attacks against the United States and Israel, hours after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to deliver severe strikes to Iran in the coming weeks and return it to the "Stone Age."
The Central Operations Room of the Iranian Armed Forces stated in a broadcast on official television: "By the grace of God, this war will continue until your humiliation, your disgrace, your permanent and inevitable regret, and your surrender." The statement added, "Wait for our most crushing and destructive operations."
President Trump stated that the United States is "nearing the achievement" of its goals in the war against Iran but will continue to strike the country "heavily" for another two to three weeks. In an address to the nation from the White House, he praised the "decisive" and "overwhelming" victories achieved by the U.S., reiterating that the strikes were necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
The war with Iran broke out on February 28, 2026, following large-scale airstrikes launched by the United States and Israel as part of operations "Epic Fury" and "Lion's Roar." These targeted vital facilities, military sites, and command centers in Tehran and several other cities, resulting in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, alongside several high-ranking officials and commanders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders of the Revolutionary Guard.
In response, Iran launched operation "True Promise 4," firing hundreds of missiles and drones toward Israel and regional countries, while also closing the Strait of Hormuz, causing energy prices to surge.
The conflict expanded to Lebanon on March 2, after Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel following the assassination of Ali Khamenei. Israel responded with extensive raids and a ground incursion into Southern Lebanon.
