Israeli warplanes launch raids on Gaza in response to rocket fire

At dawn on Wednesday, Israeli warplanes launched air strikes on targets in the Gaza Strip, in response to the firing of missiles from the Strip towards the settlements, according to the Israeli occupation army.

The occupation army said in a statement, "In response to the rockets launched earlier tonight (Wednesday), the IDF is currently launching raids on the Gaza Strip," as Palestinian security sources indicated that they targeted a Hamas military site in northern Gaza, without causing casualties.

And the Israeli occupation army announced that 5 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards the settlements of the cover, but they were all intercepted "successfully".

A statement by the occupation army said; Five missiles were fired from the Gaza Strip towards the settlements in the Gaza Strip. The IDF air defense system succeeded in intercepting them all.

No Palestinian party claimed responsibility for the rocket launch.

The Israeli army added in its statement that sirens were sounded in the southern city of Sderot.

The rocket fire came after the Israeli army launched a large-scale operation in the occupied West Bank, which led to the death of 12 Palestinians, in addition to the killing of an Israeli soldier.
