The Arab League on Sunday condemned Iranian attacks targeting power generation and water desalination plants in Kuwait, causing significant material damage.

The pan-Arab organisation denounced strikes on the government ministries complex, the oil sector complex in the Shuwaikh area and facilities of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company and the Petrochemical Industries Company.

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said the targeting of Kuwait's water desalination and water plants is a dangerous escalation and an unjustifiable aggressive approach toward Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

Aboul Gheit added that the attacks are a violation of international humanitarian law, holding Iran fully responsible. He said the League stands in solidarity with Kuwait.
