Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Japan's Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi discussed regional developments, cooperation and coordination of efforts to uphold stability.

In telephone talks, Safadi and Motegi welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing support for efforts aimed at achieving sustained de-escalation.

Safadi discussed the ongoing talks between Washington and Tehran leading to an agreement that ensures security and stability, respects international law and state sovereignty and addresses the root causes of tensions in recent years.

The discussions covered the deteriorating situation in Lebanon, with Safadi calling for an immediate end to Israeli aggression and for support to the Lebanese government in asserting sovereignty across its territory.

The top diplomats called for reinforcing stability in Gaza and implementing all provisions of the ceasefire agreement.

Safadi discussed with Motegi the worsening situation in the occupied West Bank, citing illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution, including settlement expansion, land annexation and restrictions on freedom of worship for Muslims and Christians.

Safadi called for a credible and effective international effort to halt the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.

The two ministers discussed the strength of the strategic partnership between Jordan and Japan and practical steps to expand cooperation across several key sectors.
