The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated on Sunday that reaching a definitive agreement with the United States in a single session was "not expected," following the conclusion of talks in Islamabad without a final deal.
​Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei noted that while progress was made on several points, two fundamental issues remain unresolved, preventing a final breakthrough. Baghaei described the negotiations as having taken place in an "atmosphere of mistrust," but emphasized that diplomatic consultations between Iran, Pakistan, and other regional allies would continue.
​In Washington, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed that the American delegation had returned without an agreement. Vance stated that the Iranian side failed to provide positive commitments regarding its nuclear program and had not pledged to halt its nuclear activities, despite the destruction of certain facilities. He noted that while the U.S. negotiated in good faith, the sessions ended without "tangible progress."
