Arab Bank, in cooperation with Higher Council for Rights of Persons with Disabilities, continued implementing its specialized training program aimed at enhancing financial awareness among women with disabilities. This program comes within framework of bank's continuous efforts to promote financial inclusion and develop sustainable initiatives that meet requirements of various community segments. These initiatives contribute to building their capacities and enhancing their financial independence, supporting their economic stability and role in development.
Program, which was implemented at headquarters of Higher Council for Rights of Persons with Disabilities and included new group of women, covered several basic pillars including sound financial planning, informed financial decision-making mechanisms, and establishing culture of rational consumption. It also introduced key financial and digital products, services, types of accounts, cards, and various banking solutions. Training content included simplified explanation of role of financial technology in developing banking, concept of cybersecurity, ways to prevent its risks, and set of financial guidelines and tips.
In context of enhancing practical and interactive aspect of program, workshop was implemented with participation of beneficiaries from Jordan River Foundation’s women empowerment program. During workshop, handmade products were redesigned, providing space for exchanging experiences and skills, and contributing to supporting concepts of economic empowerment and spirit of productivity and creativity.
Rawan Barakat, head of Women’s Committee at Higher Council for Rights of Persons with Disabilities, said: “This program constitutes important step toward empowering women with disabilities to acquire financial knowledge and skills that help them manage their financial affairs with confidence and independence.". She expressed gratitude to Arab Bank for its continuous efforts in supporting such qualitative initiatives, adding: “We believe that enhancing financial awareness is basis for supporting their active participation in society and empowering them economically, in line with efforts to promote financial inclusion and provide equal opportunities for all.”.
Jordan River Foundation also praised role of Arab Bank in supporting journey of Jordanian women socially and economically through its strategic cooperation with foundation. Hundreds of women have been supported through Jordan River projects for child protection and community empowerment, in addition to foundation's social projects.
Bank adopts integrated approach in field of sustainability and social responsibility, aiming to maximize its economic and social impact through implementing programs covering several areas, including health, education, fighting poverty, environmental protection, supporting orphans, and women empowerment.
