AMMAN April 28 2026: Pharmacy students from Amman Ahliyya University participated in activities of youth dialogue meeting held under title "From Awareness to Action: National Partnership to Support Executive Program for Hygiene Strategy and Reducing Random Littering of Waste". Meeting hosted by Al Hussein Youth City, organized by Ministry of Environment in cooperation with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Forum witnessed high-level official attendance included Minister of Environment Dr. Ayman Suleiman, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Emad Hijazin, Resident Representative of UNDP in Jordan Ms. Randa Aboul-Hosn, Secretary General of Ministry of Youth Dr. Mazen Abu Baqr, Acting Secretary General of Ministry of Environment Dr. Mohammad Afaneh, along with elite group of youth leaders, environmental activists.
Meeting addressed axes of executive program for national strategy which focused on four main pillars included analysis of behavior related to phenomenon of random waste dumping, developing practical solutions to address these behaviors, enhancing infrastructure through distribution of containers, establishment of recycling points, in addition to improving efficiency of logistical operations for waste collection, transport.
Forum also included interactive sessions focused on innovation, use of modern technology where participating students, including Amman Ahliyya pharmacy students, presented creative visions, practical proposals to employ Artificial Intelligence tools in monitoring causes of pollution, developing smart preventive solutions, measuring environmental impact of initiatives to ensure sustainability.
Participation comes within framework of Amman Ahliyya University's keenness to enhance engagement of students in national issues, enabling them to employ academic knowledge in providing innovative solutions serve society, contribute to achieving sustainable development.
