The National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) announced on Sunday that it is concluding testing of the National Emergency Alert System, designed to evaluate the system's readiness to warn citizens of potential risks during crises, natural disasters, and various emergency events.
In a post published on social media, the Center explained that the testing was conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), and licensed telecommunications providers across the Kingdom.
The NCSCM began issuing test warning messages to mobile phones last Monday as part of a series of trials on the national alert network across most of Jordan's governorates, running through August 2.
The Center called on citizens to remain calm and not panic upon receiving the test messages, clarifying that the alerts delivered to mobile devices in both Arabic and English are accompanied by an audible tone designed to capture attention and ensure immediate awareness.
