NASA launched its "Roman" telescope into space Sunday, on a mission aimed at drawing a new map of the universe and helping answer some of physics' biggest outstanding mysteries, including those tied to dark matter and dark energy.
The advanced instrument lifted off at 7:26 AM local time (11:26 GMT) aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, in the southeastern United States, according to a live broadcast shown by NASA.
