​His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, addressed a letter to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Majdi Al-Harasas.
​The following is the text of the letter:
​"In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
​His Excellency Brother Major General Majdi Al-Harasas, may God protect him,
​Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you,
​It gives me great pleasure to extend to you and to your brave brothers and sisters in arms across the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, a greeting filled with appreciation and pride for every one of them in their various locations.
​We have known you during your service in the ranks of our Armed Forces as a loyal soldier to our beloved homeland and a distinguished officer in the Hashemite Arab Army. Today, as Our Royal Decree has been issued appointing you Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, We entrust you with the responsibility of serving most precious Jordan and fulfilling this trust with all care and dedication.
​His Excellency Brother,
​The Armed Forces enjoy the appreciation and respect of all Jordanians, as its personnel—officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers—continue to set the finest examples of courage, chivalry, and devotion, remaining vigilant in safeguarding Jordanian land and airspace and confronting any threat targeting the nation's assets and the security and safety of its citizens.
​As you take up the trust of this leadership responsibility, you must keep the homeland before your eyes, ensuring that every effort is made to serve Jordan and its people, mindful of the importance of this venerable national institution and the necessity of preserving its good reputation and prestige, while continuing to enhance its capabilities so that it remains the nation's fortress and impenetrable shield.
​Accordingly, We direct you to follow up on the restructuring efforts of our Armed Forces, develop the capabilities of the Arab Army, and modernize its tools, enabling it to assume its responsibilities and address emerging challenges, developments, and threats with the highest levels of efficiency and readiness.
​Utmost attention and care must be given to the brave men and women of the Armed Forces to empower them and build their capabilities—officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers alike—ensuring the highest levels of performance and professionalism, as they are always the subject of our trust, pride, and honor.
​We pray to Almighty God to assist you in bearing this responsibility and to grant you success in achieving the best for the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, and you will find from Us all support and backing.
